I'm in many ways, an eternal child. My mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful, and always eager for new experiences - and my attention span is often quite brief. I grasp ideas quickly and once my initial curiosity has been satisfied, I want to go on to something else. I crave frequent change, variety, meeting new situations and people. Whether you know it or not, this is the role that is most in tune with who I am at my core. As a Protector, I have an exceptional gift for guiding and comforting others when no one else is willing or able because I actually feel their pain as if it were my own. Field Geography

Geographers can self-confidently claim strengths in several respects: integrating insights from both physical and human dimensions of environmental experience; examining the interface between scientific research and policy; place-based case studies; and cross-cultural comparative analyses of human activities and the bio-physical environment. Geographers and Earth scientists have long contributed to the understanding and management of complex megacities through their knowledge of Earth processes as well as their ability to find and exploit natural resources. They have a unique understanding of how socio-economic and natural systems operate at scales ranging from global to local. Teams of geographers and Earth scientists have a role to play in the sustainable management of megacities. Indeed, they have a duty to bring their understanding to bear. Their input can ensure deeper understanding of the complex socio-economic processes, wise management of human and economic resources and reduction of risk from natural, man-made and man-enhanced hazards.

Writing and Editing

I'm highly interested in inner, subjective, and personal issues, and my thinking is based more on feelings, intuition, personal experiences, and prejudices rather than reason or logic. Intellectual abilities and accomplishments without heart or soul mean little to me. I'm empathic and an excellent counselor, for I am a sensitive listener and deeply interested in a person's feelings and inner life. In addition to psychology, I'm drawn to education, art, poetry, music, or mythology. I'm not especially confident about speaking in public, but will open up and share my thoughts in small, intimate groups. I enjoy keeping a diary or personal journal and reading the chronicles of others' lives and personal development.

Professionalism: Good understanding of administrative practices and policies, preferably knowlege of UN staff rules and regulations. Demonstrated ability to apply good judgement in the context of assignments given. Ability to identify and resolve a wide range of issues/problems; ability to work under pressure; ability to extract, interpret, analyse and format data. Planning and Organization: Ability to prioritize and to appropriately monitor and adjust plans and actions. Must be able to work independently with a high degree of responsibility and with minimal supervision. Teamwork: Ability to maintain effective and harmonious relationship with staff members, good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. Communication: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
