I saw V for Vendetta on friday. I originally thought it to be a silly movie that was like the other comic book related movies: a big let-down. But to my surprise, it is one of my favorite movies to date. The character of V was so stunning and interesting that it made me want to assume a similar attitude towards life. His ability to cause chaos in london singlehandedly is astonishing. Even though his knife throwing is completely inaccurate, it still looks really cool. The vapor trails were a nice touch. I really liked the costume, so much in fact, that I want to make something comprable, especially the mask. I loved the storyline, and even though the "kinetic powers" were a bit far-fetched, they did fill some otherwise empty holes in the plot. I do like, how the movie mixes an action-packed hero movie with a comedic twist with a detective story sort of like an episode of CSI, where everything comes together in the end to produce a thrilling conclusion. There are many who say that the comic is much better. I have not read the comic to date, but I will soon. Even if the comic is better, I still believe that the movie did very well on its own.
