Smoky but has good shows
If they could only do something about the awful smoke! That's the California in me coming out, I suppose. Pretty much my only complaint! Great places to eat dinner nearby. Free water (always a luxury these days)... and cool black and white, tiled floor. All said about the young emo crowds, is pretty much true. Total young scenester mob. - Miss Akay , posted 11/06/06

Hipster Hell
Black Cat used to be an amazing punk club. Now its a place where hipsters hang out between their jobs at the record store and getting annoying emo hair cuts. A pint of Pabst Blue Ribbon will cost ya $3.50, need I say more? I do find it amusing to see watch people paying hundreds of dollars to look like my broke ass. If you got the money and ego to spare this place might be just up you're alley. - AfflictedNeptune , posted 06/03/06

Hot Indie Club
Great venue for your favorite alt/indie/punk/whiny boy music bands. Smoky 'cause of all the hipsters, but what club in dc isn't? No, really tell me. I want to know. But, yeah, good club. It's huge, but there's a cover for the mainstage. - Elliah , posted 04/25/05

Wear black here
Black Cat is the hip little sister to the 930 club. Some national acts some local acts, two stages, and good natural food in the smoke-free Food for Thought cafe. Red room bar is where the young and hip drink. - Paul , posted 04/21/05
