Doesn't hold a candle to actual New Mexican food
For some reason, restaurants in the DC region just can't seem to pull off New Mexican food. They can't even do Tex-Mex well. Harrumph! Anita's is no exception. Their ingredients are cheap, mostly canned/frozen. I can do better than that at home, yo? They need to take a field trip to Gabriel's, a restaurant about halfway between Santa Fe and Los Alamos (NM). Now there's some respectable New Mexican cuisine! - Inspyra , posted 12/03/06

Good and cheap and ubiquitous, but nothing excellent about it
The breakfast burrito to go has been a staple of my lifestyle for so long that my last three cars all had identical salsa stains on the dashboard just to the right of the steering wheel. All their other food is good and solid and affordable in a generic sorta way; the salsa's good but nowhere near that of, say, Tortilla Factory in Herndon. I've never regretted a meal at Anita's, but I've never had a memorably good one either. - Alazka , posted 12/03/06

Best and cheapest food in the area
How can you not love the 'Breakfast burrito' to go? Countless times these make great breakfast foods to bring to the office (around $1.50 a pop). Comes with dipping salsa too.

I've eaten at the place numerous time for whopping and satisfying servings with okay service. Think New Mexico style Denny's food. Great deal and I keep on coming back.

The take out food is excellent to when your craving something higher than Taco Bell. - Margot , posted 08/07/05
