HOUSE SUPERVISOR POSITION

I. General Description

The House Supervisor monitors the residents' activities according to
the program's schedules and regulations. He/she is also responsible
for the provision of safety, security, building maintenance and
cleanliness.

II. Responsibilities

1. Ensures that residents comply with the residential program
regulations, as well as with established house chores during his/her
shift. Evaluates residents on their performance, administers
consequences, and notifies Case Manager.

2. Ensures proper maintenance of the physical environment of the
house, including: gas, electric, heating, air conditioning,
telephone, and water.

3. Guards Residential Programs' against fire, theft, vandalism,
trespassing and illegal activities in and around the house,
performing any combination of the following activities: patrols the
house periodically, examines doors, windows and gates to determine
that they are secure.

4. Assists House Supervisor in conducting monthly fire drills and
house inspections of the entire house, including the kitchen,
bathrooms, bedrooms, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, carbon
monoxide detectors, windows, etc. to ensure that sanitary and safety
standards are met. Documents these inspections and provides to House
Supervisor for review.

5. Supervises house and monitors residents' behavior and whereabouts
in the house to ensure the safety of residents.

6. Updates housing supply inventories, and when the supply stock is
low, notifies the House Supervisor.

7. Arranges for food shopping weekly for common groceries for the
house. Meets with residents weekly to develop shopping list and
brings a different resident each week on the shopping outing.

8. Conducts group and/or individual workshops to address the
following house maintenance and daily living life skills, in
accordance with CFSA Chapter 63:
• Cooking and nutrition
• Personal hygiene
• Personal laundry
• Safe and healthy trash disposal
• House cleaning and maintenance of healthy living environment
• Safe and healthy storage and disposal of dangerous or combustible
materials (chemicals and cleaning agents)
• Simple household repairs (changing light bulbs, patching small
holes)
Documents these workshops and forwards notes to House Supervisor and
LICSW.

9. Assists residents in practicing the life skills learned according
to the Residential Life Skills Curriculum.

10. Assists in the coordination of extracurricular activities and
accompanies residents on approved outings.
11. Attends all staff meetings.

12. Meets with the House Supervisor and LICSW for weekly supervision.

13. Utilizes the data system daily to record efforts and outcomes of
residents.

14. Assists in the coordination of extracurricular activities for
residents, completes requests for expenditure and itineraries for
these activities and field trips.

15. Ensures that residents are awake in the morning for school, job,
appointments, etc.

16. Adheres to established work schedule unless a legitimate excuse
is provided for absence or tardiness.

17. Attends 40 hours of annual in-service required training.

18. Prepares Unusual Incident reports as needed and adheres to
approved incident protocol.

19. Performs other duties as assigned by the House Supervisor.
