Dancers and Friends,
My schedule is finally up for Winter 08 classes i will offer. I have added a new specialty class: Flamenco Technique for Tribal Belly Dance open to adv. beg/intermediate+ level students. The class will cover *correct/advanced* technique of floreos (wrist/hand/finger use), braceo (arm carriage and movement), correct and demanding turns, and combinations. Lines and stylization will be closely reviewed.
I have also added a BI tribal to my saturday class schedule at JOM. FYI, my tribal classes are based on the Salimpour technique *and* demanding flamenco technique as a foundation. Depending on the level, we will cover FCBD ATS "pure" movement vocabulary, stylization and improvisation and study the differences/similarities among other popular improvisational styles. Lastly, we delve into tribal fusion, its development, study combinations and choreographies.
